Heather Cox, Eat Real Food

Between Eat Real Food and The Tree House Retreats Heather has me in awe. Eat Real Food focuses on inspiring others to eat well and change the way we think about food while being more aware of what we put into our bodies. Eating fresh and locally (and beautifully) drove her to share her knowledge and creative recipes. The Tree House retreat is a breathtaking space that provides real relaxation and inspiration tucked away in the woods. I had the chance to visit the retreat and was so in love with every detail... from the all white soothing space to the indoor/outdoor concept and small black details.  Heather has a way of making her food and spaces look effortless + simple while feeling so warm, inviting and beautiful.  Enjoy what she loves the most in design and snoop some of her favorite home essentials to create your own little retreat.

Name: Heather

Profession: Founder of EatRealFood.com and The Tree House Retreats

Home Base: New York City, The Hamptons, Sydney

Design Style: Minimalist. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian, Japanese and Australian design.

What inspires you the most: Travel. I love checking out as many boutique hotels as possible wherever I go.  I have so many random pictures of hotel toilets and AC controls inside hotel cupboards. I mean, it's all about the detail, right?!

Favorite room in your home: The kitchen. Hands down.

What are the things you can't live without in your home?

Art and rugs/throws.  My aesthetic is always white, white, white! So bringing in color through art and warmth through textiles balances that out.
